the final belly shot before leaving for the hospital...41 weeks
8:30 a.m. - pitocin is administered...let the induction begin!
waiting, waiting...we're ready for you gavin!
i started at 1 cm...now we're at 3!3 cm sounds like the perfect time to powderaround 1:30 p.m. - 4 cm...making progress
notice with each cm i swell at a rapid rate
time for the epidural!5 cm...i heard things start progressing at this point
so excited!granddad and aunts waiting patiently...i can't believe how many family and friends set up camp to await the arrival of little gavin!
apparently 5 cm is where things start progressing for most. unfortunately, i stayed at 5 cm from about 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the doctor decided that a c-section would be necessary for baby and me. so around 10:00 p.m. i was whisked away to the operating room.trying to wrap my mind around the fact that i'm minutes away from meeting my son.dr. joe working on getting gavin out.he's here! 10:16 p.m.
this is the classic put me back face!listening to his heartoh cruel world! please put me back!giving him oxygen...why they had to pull his hat over his face i'll never knowi weigh 7 lbs and 15 ozfinally, i get to meet my sweet, little boy. he stopped crying the second he was reunited with mama.looking a little like popeye herenana holding gavingavin's big feet
thank you dr. joe!in the recovery room. so unbelieveably swollen, i couldn't close my hands! wrapped like an eskimo to stop the shaking.around 1 a.m. - i finally get to hold my little gavinabsolutely amazed at how perfect he is!little feet! super long toes!
